Calories In Food - That's Good!
But When Good Food Goes Bad...

15 Foods To Enjoy!

There is more to that store bought
cake than meets the eye...

Looks delicious doesn't it?Calories in food?

Yes there are, and here's some great news for you!

A calorie is a unit of energy that provides you with your get up and go, keeps your engine ticking over, and provides your brain with the fuel (calories) that powers your thinking.

Calories In Food Are Not The Enemy...

Can this be true?
Yes it is and I'd like to tell you more about it. Food that's as natural as possible provides you with energy as well as many other good things. As long as you consume the right amount of calories, they are not the enemy. Too many calories, or poor quality calories are the enemy.

Here's how easy it is. If you take in more calories (units of energy) than you use, the left overs are stored as fat. It's up to you to make sure you don't take in more fuel (calories) than you need.

But It's Not Just Calories You Need To Be Aware Of!
The amount of 'tampering' your food is subjected to is truly amazing.

A lot of 'things' are added while your food is in the growth stage, then part of that food is 'stripped' away, and then some more 'things' are added before you get to eat it.

Some of this adding and stripping isn’t bad, but a lot of it is. In a nutshell, the more a food is tampered with, chemically and mechanically, the worse it is for you. A generalization, yes, but that doesn't make it wrong.

So What's This Got To Do With Your FabulousButt?
yes cellulite, but you can get rid of it, or at least reduce it...Eating processed, empty calorie (sugar) and chemical laden 'food', results in large quantities of waste as your body tries to break all of the additives down, and store the left-overs.

And guess what? Waste is a contributor to cellulite, just like this lady has.

And yes, I know, there are those blessed, alien creatures who consume all manner of calories, yet remain as smooth and toned as a store mannequin. But I'm from earth, so I need to stack the 'calories in food' deck in my favor, and you may too.

Let's take a look at the 'calorie crimes' committed against some popular calorie sources so you can avoid, or minimize them.

When Good Food Goes Bad!!

Bread
Calories in bread are a great source Yummy bread...of energy, and in its traditional form is made very simply from flour, water, yeast and salt. Today’s version is full of preservatives, additives, sugar and odd 'agents', the calorie content is the least of it!! Bread is often seen as a high calorie food to avoid, but you need calories, and you need to get calories from food! Try making your own bread occasionally, the calories (!) are delicious.

Soup
Canned soup, dried soup or soup at the delicatessen counter. Most Tasty and fresh! of these convenience soups suffer the same fate as bread. Full of things they don’t need to be, empty calories, or useless extra calories. Calories aren't the only problem, often the artificial flavoring outweighs the actual key ingredient, and they can be full of sugar and salt. Even soup makers at home often use a commercially produced stock cube, or similar product, tasty yes, but full of additives and empty calories!

Pizza
Calories in food? This is pizza you might say, who cares about the calories? Cheesy, hot and divine..Well, your fabulous butt might have something to say!! Again I would suggest making it at home using as many fresh ingredients, good quality 'calories in food', as possible, try creating your own tomato sauce - delish!! Children also love making their own pizza, great fun. Sometimes calories just taste so good....

Popcorn
My husbands favorite, the high calorie movie version that is. Perfect SnackWhen my children were small we would often have homemade popcorn for a snack, it wasn’t covered with butter and loaded with salt, and was very low in calories, lots of air! Poor popcorn has become a high fat, high calorie, high salt, high calorie, and in some cases (Caramel Corn products) high sugar and high additive product. Lots of empty calories, useless calories and extra calories, did I mention calories!! Who needs it? Try buying some popping corn (check the label to make sure that’s all it is) pop and then enjoy those healthy calories in food.

Breakfast Cereal - Lots of hidden calories in food here!
The most important intake of calories for the day and there are a I prefer bacon and eggs!multitude of cereals to choose from , but not many cereals that are free from additives in one form or another. Check the label and only buy cereals that are free of nasty additives, or at least have a minimum of additives. Steel Cut Oats are a better choice than rolled oats, which while generally additive free, have had some of their nutritional value processed out of them through the rolling process. Be carefukl you don't eat miore than you need.

Fish
Not too many calories in this food but watch out for freezer fish, Brain food - eat plenty!!battered, crumbed, sauced, deep fried or otherwise interfered with. This fish will be loaded with fats, calories, flavor enhancers, calories, additives, calories and preservatives, I did mention the useless calories or empty calories, didn't I? Fast food fish generally suffers the same high calorie fate. So buy your fish directly from the fish merchant. Poach, steam or lightly pan-fry with a little oil and a few herbs, a sprinkle of salt and pepper – a delicious low calorie meal.

Yogurt (!)
I think this so-called healthy 'calorie in food' nightmare needs special Yogurt - Not Dairy Desserts!mention, as it masquerades as healthy calorie alternative. A quick look in the cooler at the super market will show a huge variety of high calorie flavored ‘yogurts’. Not really yogurt as it used to be, but a modified version. Full of sugar and flavor enhancers, and full of empty calories and processed fruit. Read the labels and don’t assume that you're buying a healthy food just because you're buying yogurt. There is yogurt, and then there is yogurt.

Be Alert For The Quality Of Calorie You Are Eating!!
FabulousButt Red Alert! Calories in food provide us with energy, we need calories just to run our bodies. The calories we need to be alert for are useless or empty calories in food. Go through your cupboards and refrigerator right now and throw out as much processed, instant, convenience and 'empty calorie' food as you can, it will make you feel so good!!
